The 2025 FIA Formula 2 season is set to get underway with Round 1 at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, where Invicta Racing will kick off its title defence with new drivers Leonardo Fornaroli and Roman Stanek.
Invicta Racing hit the track for the first time in 2025 with three days of pre-season testing from 24-26 February at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Leonardo Fornaroli and Roman Stanek got to grips with this season’s Invicta Racing car, setting some competitive lap times and laying solid foundations for the 14 rounds to come.

The Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit threads its way through the idyllic Melbourne parkland, running around the perimeter of the picturesque lake at its centre. In 2022, the track’s layout was significantly altered to increase overtaking opportunities. Now with four DRS zones – the most of any circuit on the calendar – there are plenty of chances for wheel-to-wheel battles.
Key corners
-
Turns 1 & 2: A hard braking zone and the first opportunity to overtake.
-
Turns 3: The second big braking event of the lap and another prime spot for overtaking.
-
Turns 9 & 10: A lengthy DRS zone provides an opportunity to pass in the run up to this ultra-quick sequence. This is the circuit’s biggest test of driver skill and car set-up.

Melbourne hosted the Formula 1 season opener for so many seasons, so it feels right to be heading back to Australia to kick off the 2025 calendar. The Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit was a happy hunting ground for Invicta Racing and our two new drivers last year, so we’re hoping to carry that momentum into the event this season. The championship starts here, and we’re all looking to kick off the new campaign with a strong result.
