Attleborough, UK, [15 September 2026] – Invicta Racing is delighted to announce Freddie Slater has signed with the team for the 2027 FIA Formula 2 season following an impressive rookie campaign in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Freddie, a member of the Audi Driver Development Programme, narrowly missed out on the 2026 FIA Formula 3 title at the final round in Madrid, finishing runner-up in the championship after a standout debut season in the category.
The British driver has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the ranks since making the jump from karting in 2022, immediately becoming the youngest-ever Ginetta Junior Winter Series Champion before going on to win the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2023.
In 2024, Freddie switched to single-seaters, and proceeded to dominate both the Italian and UAE Formula 4 championships, securing both titles in his rookie season.
He continued that progression in 2025 by winning the Formula Regional European Championship, while also finishing runner-up in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship.
Freddie stepped up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Trident Motorsport in 2026 and immediately established himself as one of the leading drivers on the grid, recording one victory in the Hungary Feature Race, three pole positions and eight podium finishes on his way to finishing second in the championship.
The Warwickshire-born driver was also the first driver signed to the Audi Driver Development Programme, underlining his status as one of the leading young talents on the pathway to Formula 1.
With 147 single-seater starts, 38 victories, 31 pole positions and 64 podium finishes to his name, Freddie will now take the next step in his career with Invicta Racing in the 2027 FIA Formula 2 Championship.
Freddie will drive for Invicta Racing during Formula 2’s post-season test to get his preparation for the 2027 season underway.
