Invicta Racing arrives in Azerbaijan for Round 12 of the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship, primed to take on the historic streets of Baku.
Leonardo Fornaroli extended his Championship lead at Monza with a landmark fourth win of the season in Saturday’s Sprint Race, becoming the first Italian to triumph at home in the series since 2017. He followed it up with a battling drive to fifth in Sunday’s Feature, ensuring another strong points haul. Team-mate Roman Stanek displayed front-running pace all weekend and looked set for a podium finish in the Feature Race, only to be taken out in an unfortunate collision.

Set against a backdrop of historic architecture and modern skyline, the Baku City Circuit combines ultra-fast straights with tight, twisting corners to create an unforgiving street circuit where the slightest mistakes are punished quickly.
The circuit’s three sectors each need different requirements from the car, meaning teams will need to make a trade off when it comes to setup.
Key corners
-
Turn 1: A 90-degree left-hander at the end of the long start/finish straight which is a prime overtaking spot.
-
Turn 8: The start of the infamous castle section, where the track is tight and winds through Baku’s medieval city walls, punishing the slightest mistake.
-
Turns 18-19: The final sector of the track is taken flat out, and this ultra-fast left-right kink feeds directly onto the start/finish straight to round out the lap.

James Robinson, TEAM PRINCIPAL
“Baku is a high-speed track. The long straights demand efficiency, but the technical sections – especially around the castle – leave no room for error. Roman has previously raced here, so has experience of the track, whereas it will be an entirely new challenge for Leonardo. We will work together to make sure we are as prepared as possible for all sessions. We want to leave the weekend in a strong position ahead of the final two events.”
