Following on from FIA Formula 2’s North American debut last time out, Invicta Racing heads further north to another new circuit in Montréal, Canada, for Round 3 of the 2026 season. Drivers Rafael Câmara and Joshua Dürksen will return to action at the historic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, hoping to continue their strong start to the campaign.
Round 2 was hosted by Miami – where Invicta Watch Group is based – and the drivers didn’t disappoint on home soil. Rafael took his second Feature Race podium of the year with a composed drive in challenging conditions, while Joshua kept up his impressive run of scoring points in every race so far.
The team left Miami with 50 points on the board and P2 in the Teams’ Championship, while Rafael holds P3 in the Drivers’ Standings – just one point shy of the lead – and Joshua sits in P8.

Situated on the man-made Notre Dame Island in the St. Lawrence River, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve features a stunning backdrop of the Montréal skyline and a start-stop layout that promotes plenty of overtaking.
With a total of four straights where DRS can be deployed followed by heavy braking events, there’s little opportunity to rest on race day with drivers attacking or defending into a large percentage of the track’s 14 corners.
KEY CORNERS
-
Turn 1: The first of many big braking events and the first opportunity to attempt an overtake.
-
Turn 10: Not only is this slow-speed hairpin a great place to dive down the inside, but drivers can also sweep wide on entry, setting up a move down the next straight.
-
Turns 13 & 14: The infamous wall of champions awaits at the end of the lap. Once again, this is a pair of corners where a move can be made or set up for the following straight.

This is the first time the FIA Formula 2 Championship has raced at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. However, the circuit shares similarities with the season opener at Albert Park and Miami, where Round 2 was held.
While the lack of data creates a level playing field across the grid, Invicta Racing carries momentum from the first two rounds, having taken three podiums in four races.
“It’s not often a team visits two completely new tracks in a season, let alone one immediately after the other. It’s a tricky scenario to navigate, but we enjoy being challenged as a team. We came away from Miami with a solid set of results, so there’s no reason why we can’t do the same in Montréal. We’ll focus on executing the best weekend possible and if everything goes to plan, the results will hopefully follow.”
