Luca Ghiotto signed off his FIA Formula 2 career with a victory in Abu Dhabi for UNI-Virtuosi Racing

Ghiotto set up his Sunday victory at the Yas Marina circuit with sixth in race one, which put him third on the grid for the following race. He overtook polesitter Giuliano Alesi on lap eight and never looked back, taking a dominant fourth win of the season – the equal most of 2019 – also retaking third in the championship which he had lost the day before.

Zhou drove a magnificent race on Saturday where he proved that his first year as a rookie in F2 has provided many lessons with the Pirelli tyres, which he kept in the correct temperature window for the race as most drivers struggled. He narrowly missed out on a chance for victory, taking third in the closing stages after a late pitstop.

Zhou's seventh in the championship means the Renault Academy driver has secured seventh in the championship, the highest position of any rookie in the series in a strong and competitive year.

The results over the weekend mean UNI-Virtuosi take second in the teams’ championship in its first year, after scoring four wins, 10 podiums, three pole positions, Four fastest laps and 347 points.

Luca Ghiotto:

I'm really happy to win this, my last race in F2. It’s five years, it's been a long journey, especially in F2. It feels sad a little bit. This year I think we could have fought for the championship, it’s been a bit unlucky but overall I have to be happy with what we have achieved. The team have been fantastic and given me a lot of support during my time here and I will be sad to leave them.

Guanyu Zhou:

It's good to be the top rookie, showing the consistency, showing we are strong straight away first year, and scoring three feature race podiums. I'm really proud of the team and happy how this year went. Hopefully, let’s see what happens next year.
