On the eve of the Summer break, Invicta Racing heads to Budapest, Hungary, to contest Round 9 of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season
Invicta Racing tasted its most dominant performance of the 2026 season to date at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with Rafael Câmara and Joshua Dürksen securing consecutive victories in Belgium.
In Qualifying, Rafael secured his fourth FIA Formula 2 pole position and, after finishing sixth in Saturday’s Sprint Race, drove to a controlled victory in an otherwise chaotic Feature Race on Sunday.
Joshua, meanwhile, delivered a confident second win of the season in the Sprint from fourth on the grid and showed promise in the Feature, but unfortunately had his strategy compromised by successive Safety Cars.
With six rounds remaining, Invicta Racing holds fourth in the Teams’ Championship, with Rafael third and Joshua 12th in the Drivers’ Standings.

Often referred to as Monaco without the barriers, the Hungaroring is a tight and technical circuit with very limited overtaking opportunities, which places a strong emphasis on Qualifying.
High temperatures in July make tyre wear a key focus. Drivers who can successfully manage their tyres will be rewarded on race day, although with the threat of rain always on the horizon, the Hungaroring often provides a twist.

Turn 1: Located at the end of the first DRS zone, Turn 1 represents the best opportunity for drivers to overtake.

Turn 4: Blind on entry, this left-hander rewards confident drivers, although exceeding track limits is all too easy on exit.

Turns 11-12: Securing a good exit out of Turn 11 can open an opportunity to overtake into Turn 12, with a short straight connecting the two right-handers.

The Hungaroring is a circuit that Invicta Racing knows well, with the team winning the 2024 Sprint and securing a 1-2 finish in the 2025 Feature Race.
Both Invicta Racing drivers have competed at the venue before, with Rafael winning the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Drivers’ Championship at the venue following his Feature Race victory.

“We’re coming to Hungary with some good momentum after a strong performance at Spa, so naturally our aspirations are elevated for this weekend. The Hungaroring is a circuit we’ve enjoyed success at in the past and it’s also the site of some great memories for Rafa, who won the FIA Formula 3 title there last season. The car has been competitive at most rounds this season, and we’ve consistently been in the fight at the front, which gives us plenty of confidence heading into the final event before the summer break. We’re all looking forward to getting out on track, and if we can put together another clean weekend, hopefully we can enter the next phase of the season on a real high.”
