Invicta Racing heads to Azerbaijan for Round 12 of the 2026 season as the FIA Formula 2 Championship returns to the streets of Baku for a supersized weekend, featuring an additional Qualifying session and a second Feature Race
Invicta Racing secured a solid points haul at the Madring, with Joshua Dürksen battling forward to finish fourth in the Feature Race while Rafael Câmara also finished in the top 10.
The Paraguayan started from 16th following a stop-start Qualifying session, disrupted by four Red Flags, and took advantage of a late Safety Car to pit for fresh tyres before overtaking Emerson Fittipaldi Jr for fourth in the closing stages, scoring 12 points.
Rafael, meanwhile, started from third and showed promise throughout but finished 10th after receiving a 10-second time penalty following contact with Oliver Goethe in the Feature.
In Saturday’s Sprint Race, the Brazilian fought forward from eighth on the grid to finish sixth, taking four points from the weekend to crucially close in on Nikola Tsolov in the Drivers’ Championship.
As the FIA Formula 2 Championship enters its supersized weekend in Baku, featuring two Qualifying sessions, one Sprint, and two Feature Races, Invicta Racing holds second in the Teams’ Championship while Rafael sits second and Joshua seventh in the Drivers’ Standings.

Invicta Racing has scored four consecutive top five finishes at the Baku City Circuit but is yet to finish on the podium in Azerbaijan.
The track will be a new venue for Rafael, although Joshua knows the circuit well having won the 2024 Sprint and finished second in the 2025 Feature in Formula 2.

“Baku is a big weekend for us, and with the enhanced format, there is a huge amount at stake. With 109 points available for teams and a maximum of 65 for the drivers, this weekend could prove to be pivotal in both championship fights. Fortunately, we’re arriving in Baku with significant momentum. We’ve won four of Formula 2’s last eight races, and during that period we’ve made real progress in the Teams’ Championship, while Rafael has also closed the gap to [Nikola] Tsolov in the Drivers’ Standings. This gives us plenty of confidence heading into the weekend. In Formula 2, Baku has earned a reputation for producing some chaotic racing in the past, but when presented with unpredictability, we can only control the controllable.
